A Hymn for Waking Up Well

Aug 20, 2024

I woke up this morning singing a hymn our church sang on Sunday, "Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it! Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb! Redeemed through His infinite mercy, His child and forever I am."

Sometimes I wake up from a troubled thought or dream that reveals some hidden insecurity.

But just look at the confidence and security I woke up to this morning!

Praise the Lord for that! (And I just love it when that happens, don't you?)

If you could use this kind of wake-up call, too — this hymn is for you.

Check out all the lyrics to this powerful hymn below.

Redeemed!

by Fanny Crosby, 1882

Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed through His infinite mercy,
His child, and forever, I am.

Refrain:
Redeemed, redeemed,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!
His child, and forever, I am.

I think of my blessed Redeemer,
I think of Him all the day long;
I sing, for I cannot be silent;
His love is the theme of my song.

I know I shall see in His beauty
The King in whose law I delight,
Who lovingly guardeth my footsteps,
And giveth me songs in the night.
