I Need Thee Every Hour

This post introduces a new series called Everyday Hymns. 

Our great God cares about our Monday mornings and since we know He gives us all things pertaining to life and godliness, we know He gives us all we need for a good Monday morning. 

Whether our week starts on an off note or a cheerful note, we can be ready with an attitude of readiness, surrender and joy.

Hymn writer Annie Hawks serves as a good example of this attitude.

In her own words:

 "One day as a young wife and mother of 37 years of age, I was busy with my regular household tasks during a bright June morning [in 1872]. Suddenly, I became so filled with the sense of nearness to the Master that, wondering how one could live without Him, either in joy or pain, these words were ushered into my mind, the thought at once taking full possession of me — 'I Need Thee Every Hour. . . .'" — Annie Hawks
